Authorization via Swagger-UI

We have implemented the OAuth 2 Standard. That means existing users can login to finAPI using an access_token.

There are two sorts of access_tokens: One for the user and one for the client (=application that connects to finAPI). You can create an access_token in Swagger using the service "Authorization" -> "Get tokens".

1.) Creation of a CLIENT access_token:

A client is an application that has the right to call finAPI services. In finAPI the user is the owner of his data, but he is created by the application (=client). To create an access_token that you can use to create users, you have to call the service "Get tokens" and fill in the following parameters.
Also see the video "How to create a new user".

  • grant_type = client_credentials
  • client_id and client_secret -> please request your personal test client credentials via JETZT TESTEN
  • The following response body is returned:

  • Copy the access_token and paste it into the TOKEN field in the top left corner. Click the arrow button:

  • Now you can create a new user -> Create a new user

2.) Creation of an USER access_token:

To create an access_token that authorizes a user, you have to call the service "Get tokens" and fill in the following parameters.
Also see the video "How to login as a user".

  • grant_type = password
  • client_id and client_secret -> please request your personal test client credentials via JETZT TESTEN
  • username = the username you have created yourself (Service "Users/Create a new user")
  • password = the password you have created yourself (Service "Users/Create a new user")

  • The following response body is returned:
  • Copy the access_token and paste it into the TOKEN field in the top left corner. Click the arrow button:

  • Now you can use all services where the user's access_token is required.
